“Turkish Foreign Minister Arrives in Pakistan for a Two-Day Visit Today”

ISLAMABAD: Hakan Fidan, the Foreign Minister of Turkey, arrived in Islamabad on Sunday for a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

Welcoming the distinguished guest, Additional Foreign Secretary Ambassador Ahmed Naseem Warraich greeted Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan with warmth and hospitality upon his arrival at the airport.

During his stay, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and engage in extensive discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.

The agenda for the meetings includes a comprehensive review of bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan, as well as an assessment of preparations for forthcoming high-level engagements between the two nations.

Since Pakistan’s independence in 1947, Turkey and Pakistan have fostered strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood. These relations have been further solidified through institutional mechanisms such as the establishment of the High-Level Cooperation Council in 2009, subsequently upgraded to the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), as highlighted by the Foreign Ministry’s website.

Additionally, both countries boast robust military ties and collaboration in the defense industry. Their annual trade volume stands at approximately $1 billion, with aspirations to elevate it to $5 billion in the near future.
