Intercity transporters overcharging for Non AC buses

Transporters plying their local transport ordinary buses on GT Road are charging air conditioned coach charges from bus service adding to the miseries of commuters travelling across Pakistan through the patronage of transport authorities playing in the hands of transporters, sources told Citizens Voice.

Intercity coaches plying on different routes are designed in such patterns that the look like the brand coaches without air-conditioning, comfortable seats looting the citizens in the broad daylight, Ahmed Khan, a passenger apprised.

All luxury coach designed buses look like the best travelling brands having no retiring rooms on booking lounges without the tuck shop and toilet facility, fleecing the travelers through higher rates.

Most of the buses, travelling with name Warraich travels, do not have operating air conditioners installed making the passengers perspire from top to toe in the scorching heat of summer.

Intercity travel authorities should take serious note of the issue to provide quality travelling services to poor passengers who face a number of problems on their way back home, Ahmed complained with anger on his face.

Buses make stop-overs for hours despite exchange of hot words with passengers to mint money for their own pockets and they have nothing to do with complains and problems of commuters because they have already greased the palms of authorities, Ahmed apprised.

Students entering and going out from various stops also add to the problems of passengers because the buses are stuffed, stopped on various crowded locations, creating a number of problems for children and women. Students often use bad and derogatory language without caring about the presence of women and senior citizens.

Coach look old buses often reach the destination in the awkward and late hours much late then their proposed time creating a number of problems to their family who have to pick them in late hours. Responsible and all those concerned who create a number of problems to passengers must be dealt with iron hands and harnessed to make the life of passengers easier travelling between intercity routes, Ahmed concluded.
