The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Central Working Committee (CWC) came to a unanimous decision on Saturday, nominating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as the acting president of the party. This nomination stands until the forthcoming party elections, set to be organized by an election commission on May 28.

Rana Sanaullah has been appointed as the chief election commissioner for overseeing the process of electing the party’s president. Today’s decision was preceded by anticipation, with the central working committee convening to select the party’s acting president.

In a separate development, PML-N senior leader Hamza Shehbaz, in remarks made last month, reiterated the party’s commitment to fostering stability within the country. Emphasizing the PML-N’s vision, he expressed aspirations for Pakistan’s ascension as an economic powerhouse, stating that political endeavors should ultimately serve the populace. Expressing optimism for the future, Hamza highlighted the party’s resolve to deliver on its promises.

However, he also voiced concern over ongoing terrorism incidents, expressing hope for their swift resolution. Hamza emphasized national resilience in the face of adversity, expressing confidence in overcoming the challenges posed by terrorism and fostering a prosperous future for the nation.
