IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Chairs Crime Meeting for Faisalabad and Sargodha Regions at CPO

Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has issued directives to enhance the quality of investigations and ensure the apprehension of more criminals. He emphasized the acceleration of special campaigns aimed at achieving a drug-free Punjab and cracking down on gender-based crimes against women and children.

Dr. Usman Anwar underscored the importance of providing swift justice to citizens by ensuring that dangerous criminals receive appropriate punishments without delay. He stressed the need to improve the quality of investigations to bring criminals to justice, advocating for the utilization of forensic sciences, artificial intelligence, and professional skills to solve cases, particularly blind murder cases.

The IG Punjab emphasized the diligent follow-up of criminals involved in robbery, murder, blind murder, kidnapping for ransom, and rape to ensure their arrest. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and abuse of authority, emphasizing strict action against those responsible.

Furthermore, Dr. Usman Anwar instructed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to monitor citizens’ complaints and grievances through the 1787 Complaint Management System. He emphasized the expeditious filing of investigation cases and called for improved coordination with prosecutors to strengthen cases.

These directives were issued during a video conference held at the Central Police Office, where a crime meeting for the Faisalabad and Sargodha regions was chaired by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. RPO Sargodha Shariq Kamal Siddiqui, RPO Faisalabad Dr. Mohammad Abid Khan, along with concerned Chief Police Officers (CPOs) and DPOs, participated through video link.

During the meeting, the overall performance of both regions in terms of law and order and crime control was reviewed. The RPOs of Faisalabad and Sargodha briefed on the performance of their respective regions. Dr. Usman Anwar assigned tasks to officers from both regions to further enhance performance in crime control and public service delivery.

Senior officers, including Additional IG Investigation Branch Punjab Muhammad Idrees Ahmad, Additional IG Operations Shahzada Sultan, DIG Investigation Monitoring Azhar Akram, AIG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat, and AIG Monitoring Tariq Mehboob, were present during the meeting to discuss and implement the directives issued by IG Punjab.
