National Banks which were once considered as the best and safest service providers for cash withdrawal for decades but now the situation has worsened as Liaqat Bagh branch of the bank is now operating without internal lock facility, dust bin and air condition services, Citizens Voice survey revealed Friday.
Lines of bank account holders, gathered around the ATM was found out of order and repairing operation was in progress, complained that no air condition or fan was installed, National Bank branch code identity board is also missing on main notice board, and the complainants fail to answer the queries of only available complain facility.
Upon contacting the operator on helpline branch code was questioned by the operator and no notification of branch code was available. Security guards gave the branch code after repeated requests, Ahsan-ul-Haq Tanoli apprised Citizens Voice about the pathetic attitude of the bank staff after making a helpline complain.
Complaint Cell has been lodged several complains but the issue has not been resolved. Cash encounter machine is often out of order and even a dust bin is not present for disposal of bank slips. We often sweat profusely while withdrawing our cash, Tahir Mahmood Khan, an account holder complained.
Citizens opened a Pandora box of complaints and commended the effort of Citizens Voice. Bank staff is busy in lunch break in their airconditioned hall, and they do not take keen interest in solving ATM issues, Tahir continued.
The concerned authorities should take strict action to address this genuine issue and save the account holders from growing number of ATM theft cases by providing internal lock facility at the earliest. Meanwhile air-conditioned facility must also be provided to meet bank standing operator procedures, he concluded.
