According to forecasts from weather experts cited by the Associated Press, temperatures are anticipated to reach as high as 55 degrees Celsius.
Jacobabad, situated in Pakistan, is among the hottest cities globally, experiencing scorching temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius on Friday. As the heatwave intensifies, residents of Jacobabad are facing significant challenges, exacerbated by frequent power outages.
In interviews with Reuters, Jacobabad locals expressed the difficulties of coping with the extreme heat. One resident lamented the discomfort of staying indoors during the heatwave, stating, “So, we come out and play Ludo (board game) which is a good way to pass the time and it reduces the feeling of heat a little.”
