LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warned on Wednesday that the province is expected to experience a heatwave starting today, attributed to a significant rise in temperature.
According to the PDMA, temperatures are projected to increase by three to five degrees Celsius from May 8 to May 10. Alongside the soaring temperatures, the province is also anticipated to encounter thunderstorms and heavy rainfall throughout the ongoing week.
PDMA Director General Irfan Kathia advised the public to exercise caution in light of the anticipated heatwave and heavy rainfall. Kathia highlighted that the thunderstorms could pose a threat to various crops across the province. “The district administrations across Punjab have been briefed about the weather forecast,” he added.
